Well, we finished much ealier than anticipated. Setback & Relax, Carmen & Journeman, and Late and Later (us), stayed together for 2 days after leaving the trail before parting ways. We all took a bus to Bangor and rented cars.
Here we are in the Georgetown area, which is just below Bath, ME, eating a long promised and much anticipated lobster dinner. (Below)
After visiting L.L. Bean for some 3 a.m. shopping, we headed to Portland to go to a sand beach. At the end of a long day, Journeyman and Carmen set off to Harper's Ferry. We drove Setback and Relax back to Bangor so they could catch a flight to Mississippi the next morning.
With nothing to do, we set off for Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. After being in the wilderness, crowds just wern't appealing. Bar Harbor lasted about an hour, then we left and found a beach to hang out, read, watch the lobstermen on the water, and just enjoy the view. (Below)
We decided to add a little international aspect to the trip and headed to St. John, New Brunswick, Canada. Dan's grandfather was born there, so he wanted to check it out.

St. John : The Reversing Falls
"Twice daily, the tides of the Bay of Fundy reach such hights, that they actually force the Saint John River to change direction and flow up river." - Back of Tourist Postcard.
Look at the top of the picture, see the river reversing? or is that re-reversing? or would that be forward? You get the idea.
